Tai Shan “1000 Miles to Yellowstone” tour

Tai Shan, indie singer-songwriter from Seattle will be performing at the Grail Venue in Coeur d’Alene with Alice Evans, Dirk Lund and Halleys Comet on August 30th at 9:30 pm as part of her 1000 Miles to Yellowstone tour.
The tour 1000 Miles to Yellowstone is sponsored by National Wildlife Federation. During this tour to Yellowstone National Park, she will be traveling to the Northwest’s most beautiful treasures, Yellowstone and Grand Tetons National parks, and performing in 10 different towns along the way. She will use the inspiration of the majestic landscape to write a collection of songs which will be released digitally on TaiShanMusic.com. All proceeds raised through the sale of these songs over the 2012 calendar year will then be donated to the National Wildlife’s Adopt-an-Acre program. The Adopt-an-Acre program provides an additional safety net for the animals of Yellowstone as they wander beyond the borders of the park.

Seattle City Arts magazine describes Tai Shan’s music as “like hugging a total stranger, kind of awkward and totally wonderful.” She has been described as sounding like Jack Johnson with the voice of Joni Mitchell.

The August show will feature Leif Solem for his 2nd appearance as a Brick & Mortar featured performer, and newcomer Michael Davis. Michael entertained the audience at an open mic earlier this year. And don’t forget…each show begins with an open mic so join us Thursday, August 4th, 7 to 9 pm at Chairs 113 W. Indiana, for another great night of original music in Spokane! Free.
Leif Solem
Leif Solem has been writing songs for twenty years. Since moving to Spokane in 2oo7 he has written and recorded eleven records’ worth of material under the name Leif Mulch. He plays in a band called the Converters, and describes his style as Igneous Rock. Leif is just back from Norway with some brand new song material.
